Teaching in the Virtual School
Brevard offers students three options for virtual education; BVES, BVSS and BVIP. For more information on each program, please review the Information, Policies and Expectations.
BVES and BVSS are staffed by Brevard Public School teachers. When positions are available, advertisements will be posted on the Brevard Public School's Human Resources page. Full-time positions are listed under "Current Openings". Adjunct positions are posted under "Courtesy Listings".
Full-time positions are under the collective bargaining agreement with the Brevard Federation of Teachers. Moving from another Brevard Public School would be considered a transfer.

Brevard Virtual eSchool
Launched in August 2011, BVES served students in grades K-5. Following school board approval on May 14th, BVES is will renamed Brevard Virtual eSchool and expanded to grades K-8. Instructors are employed by Brevard Public Schools. As enrollment is limited, instructors will work with students of all grade levels. Teachers facilitate learning in partnership with parents, assess student learning, and provide assistance and instruction via the internet. Teachers also coordinate face-to-face activities to meet the needs of students. Teachers work remotely with travel to live sessions an average of four days per month. BVES utilizes the curriculum of Calvert Education Services (click here to view). Brevard Virtual Secondary School
Launched in August 2011, BVSS serves students in grades 6-12. BVSS is a franchise of the Florida Virtual School (FLVS), utilizing FLVS curriculum instructed by Brevard Public School teachers. Students may access curriculum part-time or full-time. Part-time students may enroll in courses from August-February each year. Full-time students enroll at the beginning of each semester. Regardless of enrollment date, course completions are required by the last day of the traditional school year. BVSS teachers work full-time or as adjuncts, serving students enrolled in public schools, private schools or in home education programs. To review the job descriptions, click here:
