Brevard students may enroll in courses on a part-time basis with the Brevard Virtual Secondary School (BVSS) or the Florida Virtual School (FLVS). Both school may serve public school, private school or home education students.
BVSS is a franchise of FLVS. This program utilizes the FLVS online learning system and courses. Teachers with BVSS are employed by Brevard Public Schools and work primarily on a part-time basis. Courses taken with BVSS must be completed by the end of the traditional school year and must be a part of the students regular school day schedule. The student may do coursework from home, but the BVSS courses must be one of the courses taken as part of the full school day.
Students in Brevard may also elect to take courses at FLVS. FLVS is able to operate 12 months a year and can serve students as part of the school day, in addition to the school day or during the summer. Teachers are employed by FLVS.
To register for BVSS or FLVS, visit the FLVS website at: www.FLVS.net. During the course request process you will identify either Brevard Virtual School or Florida Virtual School for each course.
Please return on April 2, 2012 when the new website is launched and enrollment opens.
