Individualized Program of Study (IPS)

The Individual Program of Study meeting has several purposes.  Some are listed here:

  • A one-on-one opportunity for the student and parents/guardians to meet with the Guidance Counselor to discuss the student’s goals.

  • Explain and explore the various educational paths available through Brevard Public Schools to help meet those ambitions.

  • Establish a line of communication between families and the counselor to assist students as they travel through middle school and high school.

  • Provide information to all families about Brevard Public School requirements for promotion and high school graduation.

  • Present introductory material to all families about Florida universities, community colleges and the Bright Future Scholarship programs.

  • Introduce state online resources which can assist high school and college students plan a course of studies.
