Miriam B. Larson

Miriam Campa

“A smile can always overcome the barrier of language” (Anonymous)
Miriam Campa Larson’s lifelong passion for learning, growing and seeing others achieve their goals has been the motivation behind 27 years of successful teaching experiences.  Her ability to communicate in two languages has allowed her to reach out to more diverse populations and assist students in the process of acquiring a second language.   Life experiences have also contributed to her success in understanding the challenges that new language learners face as well as the world of new opportunities that will open up to them as they continue to develop their skills.
She constantly reminds her students that when learning a new language, “communication is the goal!”  Everything else (fluency, pronunciation, grammar, etc.) will become easier with practice.   Nelson Mandela inspired her teaching philosophy with his words: “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.  If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”

Mrs. Larson obtained her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Florida International University in Miami Florida and currently holds certifications in Guidance & Counseling, Foreign Language (Spanish K-12), and Exceptional
